Overview

16 channel Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) media gateway interface card for the Samsung OfficeServ 7000 series of telephone systems. This card converts TDM voice to IP packets and vice versa.

Each channel can be assigned to support either:

• Samsung IP stations (VoIP phone family, softphones, Wi-Fi phones)
• Samsung SPNET, IP QSIG networking trunks for interconnecting whole systems
• SIP trunks
• H.323 trunks

When using the OS MGI 16 in Samsung IP QSIG mode, multiple Samsung digital telephone systems with release 2 software can be networked together to form one large virtual system. Features supported across the network include central site shared voicemail with soft-key support, busy light status and roughly 95% feature transparency between systems.

Channels on the OS MGI 16 are only in use when a connection is made between an IP device and a traditional TDM device. When two IP devices are communicating, no channels on the OS MGI 16 are in use.
