Accessing the Ethernet MAC
Address on Samsung SVMi Voicemail Systems
Providing the ethernet MAC address from your Samsung SVMi voicemail system is
necessary when adding feature license keys for products such as the
SVMi
Email Gateway . If you purchased your SVMi system from Telephone
Central we will have the MAC address on file. If not, you can access the MAC
address by following the instructions below.
WARNING:
The system must be powered down before removing any cards.
WARNING:
If you have an SVMi voicemail system, it must be shutdown before powering down
the telephone system. Failure to do so may lead to irreparable harm to the flash
memory or hard drive.
Finding the MAC Address
Step 1: Locate the SVMi-E series card. This is the voicemail system.
Step 2: Shutdown the SVMi-E Series voicemail system. If you have the
older SVMi non-E series voicemail, please call the Telephone Central Service
department for further instructions.
- Login to the voicemail system as the administrator
- From any phone, press the voicemail key
- Dial * to escape to the main menu.
- Dial #, then the admin mailbox number (usually 0000)
- Dial the admin password
- You will be prompted with the 'System Administration Menu'.
- Dial 4 (this is a hidden option)
- Dial the admin password
- The system will now be shutdown. The Run LED on the SVMi-E card will
turn from red to green. Green means it is safe to power down the
telephone system.
Step 3: Power down the telephone system using the power switch.
Step 4: Touch something that is metal on the phone system cabinet to
dissipate any static electricity. Remove the SVMi card.
Step 5: Write down the MAC address. You will see a bar code label
somewhere on the card. The number should begin with 0000F0 or 00-00-F0.
